Wavo springs are manufactured from round wire to provide higher loads while maintaining the precise load characteristics found in wave springs. As an alternative to Belleville springs, Wavo springs offer similar loading but with an accurate and predictable spring rate.

Advantages

  • Precise loading with greater deflection than Belleville springs: Wavo springs provide accurate loading with greater deflection compared to Belleville springs.
  • Economical and available in carbon steel and stainless steel: They are cost-effective and available in both carbon steel and stainless steel variants.
  • Fit into tight radial and axial spaces with linear force: Suitable for tight radial and axial spaces while delivering linear force.
  • Custom designs available at no machining charge: Custom designs of Wavo springs can be obtained without additional machining fees.

Applications

  • Used in assemblies for deviations resulting from tolerance variations: Ideal for applications where tolerance differences in assemblies need to be accommodated.
  • Preloading for mechanical assemblies with increased force to reduce or eliminate vibrations: Effective for applying preload to mechanical assemblies to reduce or eliminate vibrations.
  • Compensation for clearances due to thermal expansion of assembled components: Capable of compensating for clearances caused by thermal expansion of assembled components.

Design:

  • Fits within 25% of the radial space required by Belleville: Occupies only 25% of the radial space required by Belleville springs, optimizing space usage.
  • Theoretical value is accurate until the spring reaches a constant height. See chart: The load/deflection characteristics of Wavo springs remain accurate until reaching a constant height, as shown in the provided chart.
  • Materials: carbon steel and stainless steel 17-7 PH/C. Alternative materials available upon request: Available in carbon steel and stainless steel 17-7 PH/C, with other materials available upon request.

Commonly used in vibration isolators, Wavo springs effectively dampen vibrations resulting from equipment operation under constant load, providing precise and predictable load/deflection curves.
