Description
PTFE Materials
Virgin PTFE
- Applications: Primarily used for O-Rings, Back-Up rings, and specialised machined parts.
- Features: Offers chemical inertness and is suitable for cryogenic applications, though it has limited strength.
Bronze Filled PTFE
- Applications: Ideal for dynamic sealing applications.
- Features: Enhanced wear resistance, hardness, and compressive strength due to bronze filler. However, this reduces electrical properties and chemical resistance. The inclusion of molybdenum disulphide boosts self-lubrication.
Graphite Filled PTFE
- Applications: Suitable for high-speed applications needing self-lubrication and those requiring efficient thermal energy and static electricity removal.
- Features: Provides increased thermal conductivity and reduced creep.
Glass Filled PTFE
- Applications: Perfect for high dynamic applications such as high rotation pumps.
- Features: Offers improved wear resistance and a higher coefficient of friction.
PTFE Seals and Components
PTFE Lip Seals/PTFE Rotary Shaft Seals
- Function: Serve as a bridge between traditional gas and liquid sealing technologies.
- Advantages: In many scenarios, PTFE Rotary Shaft Seals can replace bulky, multi-component mechanical face seals, offering superior operating characteristics.
PTFE Spring Energised and Hydraulic Seals
- Range: Includes piston, rod, scraper, and rotary seals, which can be either o-ring or spring-energised.
- Certification: Springs can be produced to NACE standards.
