Oil Seals

Oil Seals

Oil seals, also known as rotary oil seals, shaft seals, or lip seals, are essential components in mechanical equipment. Their primary function is to exclude substances such as water, dust, and dirt, while maintaining lubrication for the seal lip to protect rotating bearings.

Description

Our range of oil seals is designed to cater to a variety of needs. We offer six main types, with the most common being Type R (fully rubber-covered) and Type RST (fully rubber-covered with a dust lip). These seals are typically available in Nitrile, which is known for its excellent self-lubricating properties and wear resistance. For applications requiring higher chemical resistance and temperature tolerance, we provide Type GR Oil Seals made from Viton elastomer.

At our O-Rings and Seals Division, we understand that every application is unique. That’s why our standard offerings are primarily in metric sizes, but we can accommodate imperial sizes upon request. Additionally, for demanding applications involving higher speed and pressure, we offer oil seals with special stainless steel or mild steel outer casings.

Our range includes various styles, such as:

  • Standard metal-cased
  • Rubber-covered
  • Single and double-lipped types
  • Split seals (up to 1000mm diameter)
  • Unitized seals for truck and trailer axles

We also have the capability to produce metal-cased shaft seals tailored to customer specifications.

The materials available for our seals include:

  • Nitrile
  • Viton ®
  • Silicon
  • PTFE
  • Leather

These materials are selected to ensure optimal performance in excluding dirt, dust, water, and other extraneous substances while maintaining lubrication and protecting the mechanical components.
